I cannot believe this is the last newsletter of the year!
I started this newsletter on January 15 and I’ve consistently sent out a new article every week until today. I’m quite proud of that. I’ve learned to be a better planner, to take my writing more seriously and to listen to the audience.
I started out with no subscribers, sending the first two newsletters just to friends and family members, and now I’ve grown a community of almost 350 readers! I’m extremely grateful to each one of you. It means the world to me that you choose to have me in your inbox every week and that you appreciate my research and photography!
As I started mid-January last year I’ll keep that schedule and I’ll publish my first article of 2025 on Thursday the 23th. The first week of the new year I’ll still be in Europe with friends and family and the following two weeks I want to take to regroup and plan for the months ahead. I have lots of ideas of new things to write about and try out and I’m looking forward to sitting down and making sense of them.
Until then, here’s an organised list of all the articles I’ve written this 2024!
1. Food History
I have been focusing on the history and production of dishes and ingredients mostly of where I live now: New England (USA). One each month, from January to the end of the year.
2. Essays
These are extended reflexions on food and traditions.
3. Photography
I have been loving sharing my knowledge of photography, specifically food photography, and seeing how you guys find it helpful! I’d love to hear what else you’d like to learn about!
→ "How I Shot This” Series
→ “Tips for Taking Better Photos” Series
→ “My Favorite Photo Props and Where to Find Them” Series
→ Miscellanea
4. Recipes
Each month I’ve shared a seasonal recipe based on easy meals and Catalan favorites.
→ Winter
→ Spring
→ Summer
→ Autumn
5. Travel
I’ve shared my insight on my favourite places to eat in the world and photo-journals of the travels I’ve done this year, with recommendations.
→ “My Favorite Places to Eat in the World” Series
→ Travel in the USA
I’d love to hear from you and know which ones were your favourites, and what you’d love to read/learn more of! Your feedback is invaluable, specially now that I’ll focus on planning content for 2025!

Wooohoo! Congrats and happy new year!
Eli, it's been a pleasure to read your work this year! I started with your deep dive on oysters -- and, despite you publishing a ton of amazing content -- still think that's my favorite. I'll always have a soft spot for bivalves.
Hope you guys had a great Christmas, enjoy your travels, and see you in the New Year!
