I never mesure it, but quite a lot... You can try to add some and then taste the water. If it's not very salty, add some more. It should be almost as salty as the sea!
But if you are adding a lot of cheese or anchovies (that are already salty), you can add less salt to the water. Basically you want the pasta to be flavorful and complementing with the rest of the ingredients :)
